The website that at one time was filled with a bulk of information on Paxil and the controversy that has surrounded the drug for years no longer exists. The site, PaxilProtest.com, is still there but no information appears, just a blank web page. Apparently the site went offline in 2006 by way of a "gag order" due to a settlement reached between manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline and the owner of the site. It seems rather odd that a company that had been completely honest about its clinical trial findings would be inclined to allegedly pay a small fortune to have a content like this removed. As it turns out they were not as honest as they claim to have been.

The truth of the matter is that GSK hid result from the public in order to keep raking in the doe. Luckily the archives to PaxilProtest.com were found by Seroxat Secrets and a new website by that name went online in January of 2007. Not all of the content from the original site was recovered but many compelling articles can still be viewed here.

Paxil in the U.S. or Seroxat in the U.K. is somehow still on the market today after being linked to suicides and birth defects among numerous other adverse effects. Most of those still taking Paxil wish they could stop but cannot due to the terrible withdrawals experienced when trying to quit. There has been an abundance of attention paid to the drug, including national news stories and even Youtube videos about Paxil.

Paxil is one many failures of the FDA to protect the American people from dangerous drugs.
