Former chief financial officer for the New York States Nurses Association has been sentenced to 3 1/3 to 10 years in prison for allegedly embezzling over $1 from the organization over a four year period. His attorney blamed his client's actions on side effects from prescription drug Paxil.

Daley has been ordered to make restitution to the nursing group. He plead guilty to second degree larceny in front of an Albany County Judge, admitting he forged over 100 checks over a four year duration along with intercepting statements, removing copies of checks made to himself and much more.

Daley, admitted to stealing $1.2 million, he could have been sentenced up to 25 years in prison. He was fired from his job last June after the theft was found out. He had been employed there for nearly five years. Daley's attorney states he has started to make restitution.
