Category: Paxil Birth Defects

In 2005, the Food and Drug Administration began alerting health care professionals and patients about the results of studies for Paxil (paroxetine) suggesting the drug potentially increases the risk of birth defects, in particular heart defects, when women take it during their first trimester of pregnancy.

Paxil is approved for the treatment of depression along with various other psychiatric disorders. The FDA is currently gathering additional research and data while conducting studies in order to better understand the higher risk for birth defects that have been associated with Paxil.

If you or a family member has taken Paxil while pregnant or otherwise and suffered any adverse side effects of the drug, it is recommended that you seek legal counsel as soon as possible so that you have a successful claim in the Paxil lawsuit.

Keep in mind, there may be statues of limitations that need to be considered so it is essential to contact a legal representative that specializes in Paxil lawsuits early on.
