Cho Seung-Hui has been identified as the shooter in the recent Virginia Tech shooting. He is responsible for the deaths of 33 people, including himself. During the course of the investigation this week, it was revealed that Chu exhibited signs of a psychiatric disorder. Particularly alarming is the question of whether or not he was currently taking or had taken a SSRI (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor) psychotropic medication such as Paxil. There seems to be some thought that these types of drugs may lead to an increase in violent acts including suicide, homicide, or, in this case, both.
